PDX.com's role is to link government or utility organization's systems and processes onto a common network. The network becomes the "single window" of government linking all aspects of government to businesses and the public throughout Malaysia and the world. Specifically, the role of the gateway provider includes the following:

• Provide public domain access to government services, transactions and information
• Develop the interfaces which enable access into Service Supplier data by using the APIs defined by the Service Supplier
• Comply with government design requirements under license to be reviewed annually

Malaysians, including non-savvy PC users can enjoy the flexibility of online services from a variety of platforms such as Personal Computers, Web-TVs, e-kiosks, Telephone Interactive Voice Response System (IVR)) and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enabled mobile phones, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Apart from PDX.com's appointment as the gateway provider, the Government has also awarded the Service Provider concessions to three consortiums. They are:-

• MySpeed.Com Sdn Bhd
• Konsortium Multimedia Swasta Sdn Bhd

PDX also acts as the Gateway Provider for JPJ's eInsurans services, where a citizen's vehicle insurance information can be seamlessly sent and integrated to JPJ's database. This information will then be converted to issue the vehicle's license.
