Overview of eServices Flagship Application

The Government of Malaysia has launched the EG initiative to reinvent itself to lead the country into the Information Age. EG will improve both how the government operates internally as well as how it delivers services to the people of Malaysia. It seeks to improve the convenience, accessibility and quality of interactions with citizens and businesses; simultaneously, it will improve information flows and processes within government to improve the speed and quality of policy development, coordination and enforcement. In addition, EG will play an essential role in catalyzing the development of the MSC, as well as furthering political and economic development goals in Vision 2020.

The vision of EG is a vision for government, businesses and citizenry working together for the benefit of Malaysia and all of its citizens. The vision calls for both re-inventing government (using multimedia/ information technology to dramatically improve productivity) and creating a collaborative environment that fosters the ongoing development of Malaysia's multimedia industry. The vision focuses on effectively and efficiently delivering services from the government to the people of Malaysia, enabling the government to become more responsive to the needs of its citizens.

PDX involvement in eServices

The objective of this project is to enhance the traditional Government counter based service access to the public through multiple electronic delivery channels and one-stop service window where multiple services can be obtained at each delivery channel.  This project is based on the Government to Citizen (G2C) concept aimed at enhancing the efficiency, productivity and quality of Government services.  JPJ is the lead agency for this project.

The project adopts the Open Market Business model, which defines three distinct roles for service delivery as outlined in the diagram below:
